The maximum is 4-levels deep, if you have a Resource.cfg file that has the contents as shown in the next section. There is however a limit depth-wise as shown below.

There does not seem to be a real limit to the amount of sub-sub-subfolders you can do, breadth-wise besides limits that may be imposed by your hard drive's file system and/or by the Game. Subfolders are folders within folders - a "Floors" subfolder of Packages would be Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages\Floors. Subfolder Most, if not all, content can be placed in subfolders.

You can safely rename almost all Sims 3 content, changing the file names to something that is more descriptive and easier to identify. Rename Generally Sims 3 content may come with file names that are not really very descriptive. Here are the different ways you can organize your content to make things easier to find. For all information on installing content and getting it working in your game, see: Game_Help:TS3 CC Basics for a Summary or Game Help:Downloading for Downright Dunderheads for a more comprehensive guide.

This guide does not explain how to install custom content and get it working in your game, nor does it explain all the little details about things you need to keep in mind when installing content - it is ONLY about organizing. It makes finding problem files and removing unwanted content SO much easier. It is STRONGLY advised you choose a method for organizing your custom content and stick to it religiously as you download. This guide is meant to show how one can organize their custom content. I don't know if it is differnt with sims/families saved to library - you need to test it. If you don't have the Cas items extra saved and save the sim in CAS with other clothing you will keep the sim,īut if the sim is using special facial items etc and you delete the orig sim, than all the cas items are gone and the sim may look different the next time when you load him/her in CAS (move to a backup folder somewhere else). When the CC is not corrupt and you only want to get rid of it then you can use MC blacklist at least. If the creator merged every cas item into the sim.package than it is not that easy to delete the one you want to erase - I don't know how. you can delete all other CAS item packages if you don't want them or move them to Mod/Package folder too like in folder Jackets or if its a Cas item TSR-creatorname_jacket-long etc. you can rename the extracted package then to something useful like TSR-creatorname_Sim-Name Like I said, open each extracted package with S3pe and scroll down to TAG name Snap to see if it is the sim or not (you may sort TAG ascending). So all the CC I do like and keep on the sim, will continue showing up in the game? And when I'm done, can I delete all the sim.package files in the Mods folder since they will be in the SavedSims folder?

If you have the sim.package with cc included in your mod package folder or in another (not the savedsims folder). sim files which have no CC attached, but of cause the references to installed content they wear, or am I wrong? Hm, maybe you should link Packer to the folder with your CC packages, in savedsims are only.
