I receive a lot of AIS data from within a couple of miles. Then when I enable it, it seems to work alllthough the instrument display shows the location from the internal gps instead of the nmea gps data.

When I disable the iPad gps the software won't start the TCP/IP connection. Both with yacht iAIS as the iNavX i am fiddling with the iPad internal gps sensor. Probably I need new connectors because the crimping tool didn't do the job that good. It has been developed over the years as an Open Source project by a number of contributors and is really an amazing piece of software. After the hugely popular Navionics App for iPhones/iPads, OpenCPN is probably the next most widely used navigation software in the marine industry. Today I continued testing but the result was not so good.
